Baker Summit & Ski 2 Day

An overnight mission to summit and ski one of the most glaciated peaks in the lower 48. We'll ski to camp, set up camp, prep gear and get an alpine start for the summit before we descend on skis. The program includes a brief refresher on ice axes, crampons and rope skills, but the expectation is that you have learned and previously practiced these skills prior to this program. Ascent and descent options include: Coleman-Deming, Easton Glacier and Squawk Glacier Routes.

    Technical Difficulty ⚫⚫⚫⚪⚪

    The ski mountaineering routes we offer on Baker involve glacier travel and the ability to climb and ski steep snow (up to 38 degrees) in variable conditions.

    Physical Difficulty ⚫⚫⚫⚪⚪

    Mount Baker is a strenuous physical challenge.  Skiers climb over 7,000 feet from trailhead to the summit before descending the second most glaciated volcano in the Cascade Range.  Efficiency with climbing technique and excellent endurance are keys to feeling good on this climb.
