New Rock Climbing Programs
Blackbird Mountain Guides has new permits and guided rock climbing in Lover's Leap and Calaveras Dome in California and Mt Erie in Washington! This season, we're happy to announce new guided rock climbing opportunities with our AMGA trained guides in some of our favorite rock climbing venues in California and Washington state.
Here's an outline of our New Rock Climbing Programs for 2024:
Lover's Leap Rock Climbing
Blackbird now has access to some of the most unique granite climbing in California, Lover's Leap! Lover's Leap is renowned for multi pitch rock climbing on featured, solid granite and wild horizontal dikes. If you love granite face climbing and cracks, climbing at the Leap is something you need to put on your list! The climbing ranges from moderate to difficult, but the quality is 4 stars through and through!

Calaveras Dome Rock Climbing
While not on every rock climber's radar, Calaveras Dome is a prized zone for long and challenging multi pitch rock climbing. There are highly rated single pitch climbs at the Dome, but Calaveras dome is best known for its incredible, long mulit pitch climbs. Climbs at Calaveras Dome range from fairly short adventures to massive, 14 pitch rock odysseys akin to those of Yosemite Valley. Difficulties start around 5.9 and exceed 5.11 and the rock climbing routes at Calaveras Dome boast excellent rock quality, consistently getting over 3 out of 4 stars by rock climbers.

Mount Erie Rock Climbing
Mt Erie is a gem of rock climbing in Anacortes, Washington, that features a range of rock climbing styles. Whether you're looking to crank on steep sport climbs or plug cams in the cracks of the solid diorite rock, Mt Erie boasts a wide range of rock climbing options. Beyond great climbing quality, Mt Erie has some incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the town of Anacortes. It's a terrific rock climbing destination in its own right and can also serve as a great backup option when climbs in the North Cascades get rained out!
