Frog Lake Huts - Porter Service
Make the most of your stay at the Frog Lake Backcountry Huts using porters! Carry in delicious, fresh food, beer, wine, meat, cheese, sleeping bags, Bluetooth speakers - you name it! We carry the load so you can take advantage of the full commercial kitchen, eat and drink in style and save your energy for the fun part! Porters are available for your independent trip or if you'd like to bring additional items into the huts on your Blackbird Mountain Guides Frog Lake Huts trip feel free! We're happy to haul in whatever supplies you need hauled.
Porters have the right to refuse any load or portion of the load if they do not feel that it is safe or are worried about potentially damaging the contents of your load.

Porters do not serve as guides. They will not accompany you into the Frog Lake Huts. They are paid to carry a porter load (45lbs) into the huts and they move at the pace that they feel is appropriate for them given the load. In many cases they will arrive before you do and will leave your items in the hut that you reserved or your designated space in the refrigerator.

Meeting locations are typically at the Donner Summit California State Snopark(Castle Peak Trailhead) or at the Safeway on Donner Pass Road. Porters will weigh the load and will carry up to 45 pounds. If you would like the porter to carry additional weight, discuss this with them beforehand to make sure that they are able and comfortable to carry additional weight given the snow conditions. Weight beyond the 45 lb limit will be charged at $7/pound, payable in cash to the porter.

- Great for Solo or Small Groups: Ideal for individuals or small groups looking to share costs with others.

- Less Flexibility: Dates fill quickly, and group programs require adapting to the skill level and pace of all participants
- Group Atmosphere: Meet others with similar interests and make some new backcountry buddies!
