Mount Baker Ski Conditions - 2025-06-19
The ski season is still ON in the Cascades, and our guides have been enjoying stellar conditions on Mt Baker recently!
Looking for the latest Mt Baker backcountry skiing conditions? Our guides have been working on all sides of the mountain recently. Here's what you need to know:
Snow Coverage and General Conditions
The snow line on the mountain is around 4,500 feet, and travel on the summer trails is good to this approximately this elevation. Consistent snow/easier travel on skis is closer to 5,000-5,500 feet.
Climbing and Skiing Routes
The Squak Glacier was skiing great last week, setting up for quality corn conditions by mid-morning. The Coleman-Deming route has provided good travel across the glacier, and solid bootpacks have been established on the normal route.

Upper Elevations

The upper elevations where the snowpack has frozen the hardest are skiing really well, even into the early afternoon on some days. As we get deeper into summer, it will be important to get an early start to time the best conditions for your ski descents.
Weather and Timing
Classic PNW weather patterns have contributed to a grab bag of conditions as of late, with plenty of sunny days with stable temperatures amidst some unstable weather and precip. This weekend looks wet, with up to 6" of snow predicted on the upper mountain. If you've ever wanted to ski pow after the summer solstice, this year is looking like a great opportunity!
